Local Community Support
Hatherop Castle is very fortunate in its position within the community. Over the years we have developed strong links with the surrounding villages and communities. The school's Senior Chapel Choir takes Parish Evensong on a termly basis and they also sing at weddings and other special church services. The Headmaster is a member of the Parish Church Council and the school supports the church in several ways as well as being committed financially on an annual basis for contributing to the Church Restoration Fund. The choir also sings at the annual Cirencester Advent Market and locally whenever they are invited. They much enjoyed their contribution to the "Music for the Passion" festival run by the local parish last year in aid of an orphanage in the Holy Land.

The Art department gets involved with the local Art Festival and our pupils enter their sculptures as exhibits in Quenington village. Local pensioners are brought to school by coach twice a year for the Carol Service and the Summer Musical Production. They always enjoy meeting the children and having tea with them following these events.

Every year the eldest children in the school look forward to their visits to the local old folk to distribute gifts collected as part of our Harvest Festival. The pupils also appreciate time spent with the local Primary School and found the experience of joint team building exercises last term very beneficial. The school also has a supportive, mutual relationship with another small village school and pre-school not too far away

The school is active in its charitable events as the children and their parents are generous in supporting those less fortunate than themselves. We have supported both local and overseas charities and over the last year we have collected and donated over £5,000.
