To arrange an appointment please contact the Headmaster’s PA Mrs Usher-Benwell on 01285 750206. Our Open Mornings for the academic year 2010-11 are as follows:
Michaelmas Term: Monday 4th October 2010
Lent Term: Saturday 29th January 2011
Trinity Term: Monday 9th May 2011
To apply for a place at the school an application form must be completed and sent to the school along with a non-refundable registration fee of £75.
If a visit has already been made a taster day can be arranged where a child can join a class and experience a ‘Hatherop Castle Day’. We do not have any formal Entrance exams but we will assess the child on a taster day, and we do require reports from the child’s previous school.
If a place is offered and accepted by parents, a refundable deposit of £300 is paid and the process of Induction into the School can begin. This deposit is refunded on completion of Prep 6 or later. Joining information is sent to parents, appointments for uniform kit outs are made and an invitation to Induction Afternoon is extended. Children are invited to become a member of the class they will join in the following September and meet the teacher assigned to that class. Children that join us at other times of the academic year are also offered the opportunity to join the class they will enter on arrival, for a day, in the term prior to arrival.
A system of buddying is in place, whereby new pupils are looked after by ‘old hands’ and shown where everything is and how things are done.
